Laminate flooring can work almost anywhere in your home, but is not recommended for the bathroom or other wet areas. While laminate flooring can certainly withstand occasional spills of moisture, sustained exposure to water may eventually seep in to the seams between boards and cause the cores to expand, thus buckling the floor. Most manufacturers offer moisture guarantees, but read them carefully. They have limitations.
Laminate flooring cannot be refinished, re-stained or re-sanded.
Many homeowners install these floors themselves. If you have an adventurous spirit and like to do home improvement projects, we would certainly encourage you to try and install the floor. We can set you up with some suggestions on how to make your self install go more smoothly.
We do offer certified laminate installers for our customers who do not wish to install the floors themselves.
